About

Northside Welcome Centre opened in 2006 and it provides a safe welcoming space to people form the local and wider community by offering educational and recreational courses and activities to help improve confidence, self-belief and the desire to be the best that they can be.

Northside Welcome Centre is often described as a 'lifeline' for those struggling with life’s circumstances, including unemployment, low self-esteem and physical and mental health issues.

The charity Sikh Nari Manch UK, was started in 1998 by Bibi Gurdev Kaur OBE, to address the lack of resources for women and families in Stockland Green, a largely deprived neighborhood in North Birmingham. It was soon apparent that the whole neighborhood lacked community resources and the vision for Northside Welcome Centre took shape.

We believe everyone can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
